More about the project

New Website and a Fresh Brand Image for the KZVB

The Association of Insurance Dentists of Bavaria represents the self-administration of Bavarian contract dentists, which includes approximately 10,500 dentists, orthodontists, oral surgeons and oral surgeons. The public association organises, inter alia, the emergency services and negotiates the fees for its members. One of the most important tasks from the point of view of the affiliated doctors and practices is the settlement of the services provided with the health insurance companies. The website is the first point of contact. And she, meanwhile, had grown old. Telekom MMS was initially commissioned with the relaunch.

Originally conceived as a relaunch, the project turned into a revision of our brand image. The MMS has launched this process convincingly with a lot of commitment. We are very proud of the result. Tobias Horner, Deputy Head of KZBV's Press Department KZVB

Requirements

Fresh Look and Technology for the KZBV Website

The KZVB commissioned Telekom MMS to revise the website, which was first launched in 2006. The internal area of the website is visited by all members at least once a month to submit their invoices. The KZVB wanted an agile procedure model for the relaunch process, whereby the data protection for health data had to be adhered to during the development process. The new website should not look “fresher” on its own. The wish was that the technical basis should be future-proof and expandable. In addition, users should find their way more easily in the self-service area, in order to take into account the highly variable digital skills of the association members.

Solution

Component-Based Aolution on Behalf of TYPO3

As part of a development process based on Design Thinking and Scrum, Telekom MMS developed initial design prototypes in workshops with target group representatives. The technical basis of the new website should be TYPO3, as it can be easily adapted to the wishes of the KZVB. The technology relies on contemporary architecture with Docker containers, DevOps and automated deployments. The new website is also component-based, allowing the reuse of elements and services within other websites or platforms. But already at the beginning of the 8-month project, it turned out that the illustrations, fonts and colors used so far were not suitable for responsive online design. The project, originally planned as a relaunch, thus triggered an internal process, at the (provisional) end of which is a completely new corporate design and brand image.

Benefit

Award-winning website represents the strength of KZVB

Elegant and modern page design, responsive and barrier-free page design based on a modernized platform: KZVB and its members benefit several times from the new website. In everyday work, the new design creates easier usability and a better overview. And editors and administrators get more opportunities to create new content. At the same time, the KZVB strengthens its image in the public with the new brand presence. It thus underlines its usefulness and its important role in the health sector. The project result can be seen literally, because the new KZVB website won the “DACH Customer Experience Award” in the category “Customer Service Online.”

About KZVB

The Bavarian Association of Insurance Dentists takes on important tasks for its more than 10,000 members (dentists, orthodontists, orthodontists, orthodontists and oral surgeons). This includes, among other things, fee negotiations with the health insurance companies and the billing of the services provided. She advises on matters of contract dentists and social law. As an important pillar in the healthcare system, it is also a competent contact for patients who have questions about treatment and cost plans or are looking for second opinions. In addition, the KZVB takes care of the organisation of emergency dental services so that patients can be helped quickly even on weekends and holidays.
